Thursday, June 19 – Depart JFK

Friday, June 20 – arrive Shannon – collected by coach and driver

Dunraven  Arms Hotel, Adare.  Free afternoon to rest and explore the village of Adare

–          Walking tour of the Manor Grounds, including the Franciscan Abbey, Maigue River, Trinity Church, Heritage Centre

–          Dinner in the Maigue Restaurant, Dunraven Arms Hotel

–          Evening entertainment in local pubs

Saturday, June 21 – After a leisurely breakfast, you will have a free morning to explore the Heritage Centre and the “tidy town” of Adare.   At 11:30 am, you will meet your driver to depart Adare for Blarney in Co. Cork.  Upon arrival, you will have free time to kiss the famed Blarney Stone, explore the extensive gardens and grounds of Blarney Castle and take an optional tour of the Manor House.

When you leave the castle grounds, stroll over to Blarney Woolen Mills, to enjoy a snack and free time at one of the most famous shopping locations in Cork.

Sunday, June 22 –  Following breakfast at Fernhill House, you will enjoy a guided tour of the 4 acres of  formal gardens surrounding Fernhill House.  Later in the morning, you will visit the secluded Stepaside Gardens.  Noted for it’s tranquil rose and fuschia beds, ornamental beds, tree ferns and water features.

In the afternoon, you will continue on to lovely Lisselan Gardens – one of the “100 Best Gardens in Ireland”.  Set on the banks of the Argideen River, Lisselan is noted not just for its Fuschia gardens with over 30 varieties, but also for it’s rustic bridges, flagstone walkways, rockeries and unusual varieties of plants that make it one of the most unique gardens in Ireland.

Monday, June 23 – You will once again enjoy breakfast in the elegant surroundings of Fernhill House.  You will then visit Glenview Gardens – 3 acres of surprising gardens with each style flowing into the next.  From the Mediterranean gardens to the Italian gardens, the Japanese gardens to the tea house, visitors will stroll amid wisteria, wildflowers, an Italianate canal and a bog garden.

We will then visit the idyllic Gougane Barra, and continue on towards the West Coast and Heron Gallery Gardens near Bantry.  An artist’s garden, the Heron Gallery specializes in annual colour, spectacular views and quirky garden ideas.

During the day, we will enjoy the iconic views of the west of Ireland, photograph and shopping stops.

–          Dinner – on your own in the hotel or the village of Glengarrif

Tuesday, June 24 –  After breakfast in the hotel, you will visit the elegant Bantry House Estate and Gardens.  You will tour the Manor House, learn some of it’s unique history, bask in the breathtaking views and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee in the tearoom.

In the afternoon, you will be free to explore Whiddy Island, follow the Bantry Heritage Trail or explore the village of Glengarriff.

Wednesday, June 25 –  following breakfast, you will ferry past the nearly tame harbor seals to Garnish Island to visit the Italianate gardens of Inacullen.  Located in the sheltered harbor of Bantry Bay, this unique island garden features guided walkways and stunning specimen plants, many of which were planted over 100 years ago and are rare to the climate.

In the afternoon you will tour the Ring of Kerry, noted as one of the “must see’s” of any visit to Ireland. Your knowledgeable driver/guide will make stops and point out the special “don’t miss” sites.

Thursday, June 26 – immediately after your typical Irish breakfast,  there will be time to stroll the gardens of Ballyseede Castle before continuing on your visit to Dingle. This day will feature some of the most spectacular and iconic scenic views as you cross the Shannon Estuary on the ferries to the Cliffs of Moher.  You will spend the night near the village of Doolin which is noted for it’s typical pubs and traditional music.

Friday, June 27 – The owners of Ballinalackin castle will take you on a private tour of the ancient castle ruin, sharing the history and lore of their home.  Your tour will continue into the heart of the Burren to Poulnabrone Dolmen, a beautifully preserved megalithic portal tomb.

The afternoon will be spent at Craggaunowen  – the living past experience where you will explore how the ancient celts lived and worked.  You will visit a Crannog, a Ring Fort,  Craggaunownen Castle and see artifacts of a lifestyle that existed more than 1000 years ago.  You will see rare animal breeds and enjoy tranquil lake walks in the fresh air.  For lunch, sample the homemade fare in the lovely tea room.

We will finish our visit in the village of Bunratty – sharing a farewell drink in the historic “Durty Nellie’s Pub”.  Optional evening entertainment at Bunratty Folk Park – a Traditional Irish Night – including dinner and a traditional music show.

Saturday, June 28 – following breakfast, you will be shuttled to Shannon Airport for your return flight home to the USA.
